View Subscriber Info Shiny Header Graphic 2.0 Style
I’ve been using the Subscribe to Comments plugin (by Mark Jaquith of txfx.net) for quite some time. Recently, I got to wondering how many people where actually using it on my site. I poked around for awhile and found a simple script that generated a list of users and their subscriptions (again from Mark). While it does the job of reporting who is subscribed to what, I felt that I could improve it (if only slightly).

Presenting WP View Subscriber Info, a plugin for WordPress.

Congratulations go out to the K2 team who are just one decimal place away from a 1.0! You’ve come so far since R167. In honour and homage to their great work, I have update Sawchuk, a scheme for K2, to be compliant with all the changes built into the latest version.

Today I received an email from Darren Rowse of Problogger fame. Yesterday, I published ‘Move your bowels’ and other sage travel (writing) tips as part of the ProBlogger group writing project on lists. Over 300 people submitted their newly created list for the project with 6 random winners selected from all those who entered. Well, my piece on bowel movements and monkey’s was randomly selected; I am to recieve $100 gift certificate to Amazon care of Blake Schwendiman.

I’m not familiar with Blake’s blog; according to this post his website is a place to promote his first-ever fiction book, The Agency Delta which he is offering for download. Blake also codes some Google Modules as well as writing up pieces on movies, music and other pop culture. I’ve added his feed to my rss reader. All I can say to both Darren and Blake is Thanks! One good turn deserves another… I’m sure I’ll think of something.

In the meantime, anyone have any good suggestions for some book love? Its still summer and I will be visiting the beach till late September (thats the best time shhhhhh!).

Ten delicious pieces of wisdom I have learned from experiences (both first and second hand) traveling.

  1. Do move your bowels.  Get yourself to a washroom when you have the urge.  Q: What is worse than going to the bathroom in a stinky crap infested hellhole with no TP?  A: Not going to the bathroom for a couple days while your feces turn into concrete that need to be surgically removed.  When you are traveling in a foreign land, nobody knows you, so just make time to move those bowels — even if its while standing over a trough behind someone else doing the same thing.  And if there is no TP, sacrifice some clothing. Think how good you will feel when its all over, and the stories! This tip has nothing to do with writing, but its very important.

MouseRunner.com | ColorConsCheck out ColorCons, a set of icons made freely available (CC, Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License) in four different colours (blue, grey, green, and red [shown to the right]) from MouseRunner.com. Perfect for a website (as long as its non commercial) or app with a minimal yet candyish design — the use of symbols is great!

Checkout the screenshot to the right and head on over to MouseRunner to download the icon set you would like. All the icons are in PNG and ICO format and be sure to check out the full conditions of use.

Ken Saunders, the creator of these icons is Legally Blind. “…my greatest passion (ironically) is working with and creating graphics and content for my websites. While my vision is poor, I can see and appreciate colors very well, especially blues which is why you see a lot of them in my works. Detailed work can be achieved although it takes quite a bit of time, patience and the proper accessibility tools. [link]”

ColorCons look great, and I appreciate their design even more if I think in terms of accessibility. Ken (who operates mouserunner) also runs accessfirefox.com, a site he created to demonstrate accessibility tools and features available for FireFox.

Dear Readers,

Posting frequency, email response, and everything in general has slowed to a dead halt recently due to the marriage of Mr and Mrs MaxPower. See a few pictures below. Expect things to ramp up again soon.
