Maxpower is powered by Kirk Montgomery, a team of monkeys, and a computer in a room somewhere in Atlanta, USA. The monkeys are in charge of quality assurance while the computer serves up the web pages etc. Kirk provides the content.

Before I became what I am today, I was a: remote sensing master, hypnotist’s assistant, bryophyte field technician (specialty in lifting heavy things), landslide locator, automotive repair shop manager, grizzly bear researcher, city employee charged with eating sandwiches and spraypainting sidewalks, GIS specialist, earthly pixel pusher, greenhouse grunt, (in)seign fish netter, and traveller.

Kirk Montgomery has also authored several WordPress plugins including Digital Fingerprint which allows you to quickly and easily discover rss scraping content thieves, and Tags in the Head, a plugin that uses tags to create metakeywords. Lastly, Kirk has dabled in CSS and created the Sawchuk scheme for K2 and accompanying plugin.

MaxPower started from the idea that MaxPower was a great name, and that there were only so many great names out there. MaxPower was borne partly out of the idea of having such a great name, and partly out of learning about the web. You may be familiar with an episode of the Simpsons which featured Max Power, an alter ego of Homer Simpson. Max Power was dynamic, decisive, uncompromising, and stupid. These qualities embodied MaxPower the website for a long time. Posts on ACDC lyrics, sphincter bleaching(!), and the worlds biggest Special K are hallmarks from this early period.

Perhaps with maturity comes a relinquishment of childishness and stupid thoughts and posts. MaxPower is now primarily focused on WordPress Plugins, issues of SEO, Adsense, splogging, and copyright. In addidition, the topic of Free Icons is discussed frequently.

Still, everyonce and awhile the monkeys come back and decisive stupidity returns. I’m very proud of the bring sexy bark pictures.

Before the monkeys took over, Phil also lurked around tinkering and generally making things work / hacking backdoors or whatever he does. Now, Phil doesn’t come around here because he doesn’t believe in monkeys, Santa, democracy, starfruit, and that it is indeed not butter. Phil currently resides down under and helps build ivory towers.
