Paul of 2pt3.com just released his custom icon set, twotone. It’s 100% free for any use, comes with every icon in both PSD and GIF format, and also includes one large PSD file so you can manipulate them all as you see fit. Its a great package!
Paul is also a designer at twothirty.com — “we design websites, applications & identities.”
what’s the catch?
there isn’t one. no licensing, no legal, just do whatever you want them. and if you want, post a link the comments if you do use them on a public site, so i can see where they’re being used and how.

For some reason the ‘red’ icons appear all BLUE. Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing - could be of some value for using in listviews etc.

I don’t think he can honestly just say, “free, no license or anything.” As the author, he owns the copyright on the material. At best, his disclaimer of a license might in itself be some sort of vague license.
