So welcome to the test style post for the Sawchuk Scheme, for K2. I think its great as its designed to emphasize the content over the style of the site. Anyway, there is a lot of dummy text here, where possible I have indicated the style used. Feel free to look at the HTML source if confused. Anyway, so then after I earned my first million, I learned how to speak latin! Ulla hendrerit massa sit amet nunc. Donec pede. [...] Note that there are a few custom classes included with this scheme to create alerts, callouts, infoblurbs, ‘other’, and downloads. The download link above is an example of the download class. The text in blue (this whole paragraph) is an infoblurb. Root around in the css and visit the test style post to see whats going on. [...]

Hi there, just wondering, I wrote a simple plugin for WP that does something like the Sawchuk Scheme for K2 above, I like the style of those quotes, do you think I can be inspired by them and adapt them for my plugin?
Of course I’ll give credit.
Thanks

The only real shame here is the background transparency (like all other beautiful things on the internet) go kaput when Internet Explorer shows up at the party.
A real bummer, but would changing them from transparent PNG’s to transparent gifs do the trick?

Suleiman,
You are correct about transparency and IE with regard to PNGs. However, IE7 is here and it plays nice with PNGs. Converting to gifs would be ok, but I just don’t have the gumption. To paraphrase: I just try to make some of the people happy some of the time.
Cheers!

[...] I took the following CSS classes from Sawchuk and implemented them in Unwakeable: download, code, alert, construction, and other. You can see Kirks test style post here for a taste of what each of these classes does, or you can just take a look below. I had modify some of the classes a little bit. I sometimes post small one-liner pieces of code that didn’t display very well without some changes to Kirk’s CSS. I basically just changed some margins around to make the code icon appear correctly, whether it’s in a one-line or multi-line piece of code. [...]
