A long time ago, an age in fact, I wrote a post called ‘Top 10 Dirtiest ACDC Songs’. Since then, I have had several blog incarnations and had lost the text. Sad. But Lo, a fortitious email brings word of said long lost post! Seems I was smart enough to submit it to blogcritics. Seeing as how I wrote it, I now place it in its rightful home here on maxpower.
In the interveening years, my appreciation for ACDC has only deepened. They truly rocked SARS stock. So with a new appreciation, I present a redux of the original — Top 10 Dirtiest ACDC Songs.
ACDC is indeed one of the greatest live rock acts to be seen, full stop. You can’t help but smile pump your fist when you hear the chorus of ‘caught with your pants down.’ Recently, I was pondering life, wondering how these guys could be so successful and it hit me! Steps to success: 1) simple blues based hard rock, 2) distortion, 3) schoolboy outfit, and 4) crazy voiced singers. Sheer genius! Its like they are in a rock n’roll band singing about sex, drugs, and rock n’roll… What moxy!
Anyway, I was listening to ACDC and came up with this short list of their best innuendo filled rock numbers. Each song is listed with a small choice lyrical excerpt. For those of you not familiar with ACDC, I’m not making this up. Drumroll please….

Yowser. Gotta love AC/DC. They are just so direct. I’ll include a bunch of honourable mentions to round things out, and my nomination for the dirtyest AC/DC album of all time. For me its between Highway to Hell and the Razor’s Edge and I give it to the classic Highway to Hell since it was such a landmark album, and Bon Scott was the man.

ACDC does not suck. In fact, they rock. They are not for everyday listening like some stuff is. ACDC is required for road trips, cleaning the house, and driving with the windows down fast. Listen to ACDC when you want to get something done. Have you even heard, ‘Let me put my love into you?’ Can you imagine the size of their balls to write a song about sex like that?

1. Americans like to dance and listen to shitty music
2. The best metal music comes from the UK and ‘beyond’
3. The Americans have given the world nothing, except of course the creation of the name Jacob, and other hick names

Interesting thesis boy. Here is my argument:
You are a stupid person, or a troll in which case you are stupid for being a troll. Either way, you are of low intelligence OR or not smart enough to now how ignorant you are. You contention #1 is that Americans like garbage music, I agree. Its true (in my opinion) that some Americans listen to bad music. Like American Idol bad music. The kind of bad music invented for the sole purpose of being catchy in order to make money. Spears, and Clarkson for example are ‘created’ and molded by handlers, their songs are written for them, and they simply perform them, sometimes not even singing. Americans love that shit. But you know where it was invented? THE UK!
Yes the UK is where dance music never became shameful. You guys love your Robby Williams. In the UK, its all dance music all the time. The #1 complaint of traveller (my age) coming back from the UK is that the radio is garbage there — all dance. Sure the UK made the Beatles, rolling stones, Clapton, the list goes on. But they aren’t what people like anymore, they like dance. And dance music (for the most part) is garbage. Dance is so pervasive that nothing else is on.
#2 The best metal music doesn’t come from the US. You are correct. I think this is because the small majority of you guys are so sick with dance that you go to the polar opposite of dance, metal. Example Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Americans aren’t creating the ‘best’ new metal music because they are too busy creating entirely new, popular, forms of music such as Jazz, RnB, rap, etc. What has the UK invented lately?
Davey Boy, if you have been reading along up until now you’ll notice that I have also just quashed your 3rd point in part. Yes, Americans have invented lots of music, and musical genres. Americans invented Jacob? The name Jacob is referenced in the bible but actually comes from the Latin name Jacobus (which itself comes from a Greek name). I can’t speak to Billy-Rae, Dasiy-May, or any other name as they are hideous. But I’m sure in your family you have a crappy UK name (perhaps a Redmond, Millie, or a Reece). I’m not sure which is worse. Thankfully, here in Canada, we don’t have crappy first names that are uniquely Canadian (except for the French and the Native peoples, but lets leave them alone).

Lets not get crazy with the claims of kiss having any talent lol they were a show thats all….in terms of musical creation…its crap lol im more of a metal guy iron maiden, zeppelin, avenged sevenfold and im a musician so i look for the actual creation and the little itty bitty details not just how hard i can sway my head. i mean i think the singers of ACDC sucked and thats cuz i looked for the creative talent and ability….it was different and “rocked” but that doesnt always mean better. and i think thats maybe where an opinion may vary
